Torben Dalgaard appointed as new Director of DeiC
The Board of DeiC has appointed Torben Dalgaard as its new Director. He takes up the role on 1 November and will lead DeiC through a transition towards a new organisational structure. Over the coming years, DeiC will develop into a professional, customer-oriented service organisation that delivers value to Denmark’s universities.
Torben Dalgaard brings 27 years of leadership experience across the public and private sectors and the consultancy industry. Most recently, he was an Associate Partner at IT ADVISORY. Previously, he spent six years as Director of CIMT, the Capital Region of Denmark’s IT and medical technology organisation. He has led large IT organisations and change programmes, including at Danske Bank, and has worked with a wide range of stakeholders. He holds an MSc in Mathematical Planning from Aarhus University and previously served on the Danish Council for IT Projects.
Chair of the Board Kristine Stenhuus says: “With Torben, DeiC gains an experienced Director who knows the public sector from the inside. He has demonstrated his ability to deliver results in complex organisations with many stakeholders. Together with staff and the universities, he will build reliable services, full transparency and a strong foundation for DeiC’s next chapter. The Board looks forward to working with him.”
Torben Dalgaard says: “DeiC plays a central role in Danish research. Researchers need access to computing power, data and networks, and universities need to see what they get for their investment. I look forward to getting started and working with staff, the Board and the universities. Together, we will build a DeiC whose services users trust and seek out.”
Alongside his role as Director of DeiC, Torben Dalgaard will continue to serve as a board member of FysioDanmark.
