Clouds are happening
a collective approach for the delivery and adoption of cloud services
Cloud services are becoming core to research and education institution's business. More and more institutions want to use cloud services on a larger scale. However, the cloud brings a paradigm shift in distribution and usage models. This requires a new approach to connect the supply and demand sides and establish the right conditions of use.
DeiC collaborates on clouds with the other European NRENs in GÉANT: to share expertise and resources, align roadmaps and jointly engage the market, with the goal to enable Research and Education institutes in Europe to adopt and use cloud solutions in an easy, safe, predictable and controlled manner.
Andres Steijaert from SURFnet (the NREN in the Netherlands) leads this European cloud collaboration and will speak about the services which are available to the Danish institutions, most notably the IaaS solutions which resulted from the pan-European tender with 36 participating countries.
