What is a cookie?

The vast majority of websites use cookies. A cookie is a small piece of text that is stored on your computer, phone or whatever you use to access the internet with. Cookies have many uses, but are basically used to store information about your movements on a website.

This website uses cookies. We are obliged to provide you with information that we set tracking and statistics cookies before they are set and how we use these cookies. What information do we collect?

We use technical cookies on our website that ensure that the website works. In addition, we also use statistics and tracking cookies that record how you click your way through our website in order to gain knowledge on how our site is used. The goal is to make deic.dk and our other sites as user-friendly as possible.

The information we receive is e.g. the information that allows us to get an overview of the number of visitors to different parts of the websites, and which search words are used.

The first time you use our website you will be met with a banner containing information about our cookies used for statistics. If you click on "Reject", no cookies are set for statistics. However, we use a cookie to remember your no thanks to statistics.

If you click "Accept", cookies are set to collect statistics and the banner disappears. We use the statistics to improve usability. The information in the statistics is anonymous and is not linked to the individual user.

We only use cookies to improve the website's content and functionality. We do not use cookies for marketing purposes.

Who gets access to your information?

Some websites allow third parties to place cookies on your computer, tablet or smartphone for various purposes. This means that others than the website owner have access to set cookies. Others disclose the information they have collected to third parties.

In DeiC, we process all the information ourselves and no third party receives the information we have collected. We use a system called Matomo installed on our own server in DeiC's server room in Lyngby. The collected data belongs to us, they are stored on our in server in Denmark, and are not shared with others.

What cookies do we use?

We collect anonymized website statistic with the help from cookies, with the purpose to find inexpediencies on the website, so we can improve your experience on deic.dk.

Can you withdraw your consent?

In order for us to set tracking and statistics cookies on your computer, we require your consent. You can withdraw this consent at any time through the privacy settings.

Turn off cookies

If you do not want cookies on your computer, you can turn them off in your browser. How exactly you do this depends on the browser you are using (e.g. Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Safari). If you use multiple browsers, you can disable cookies in all of them. If you do not want to receive cookies from deic.dk, you can in most newer browsers select ”advanced cookie settings” under internet settings and add this domain to the list of websites you wish to block cookies from.

How to delete cookies

Under your browser's advanced internet settings, you can also delete individual cookies or all the cookies that your browser has stored. If you set up your browser to reject cookies, be aware that there may be functionality on various websites that does not work.
