Iperf is a tool for testing the bandwidth of a network connection, and diagnosing problems with performance and quality.
Iperf is not meant for continuous monitoring of a network connection. However, iperf provides more detailed infomation than the bandwidth test found at My research network.
The DeiC iperf server may be found at the address iperf.deic.dk. The server is globally reachable. To access, please enter the command:
iperf -c iperf.deic.dk
In order to use the service, you must install an iperf application on the device you are testing the connection from.
Iperf is open source and may be downloaded from iperf.fr or from relevant app stores for other platforms.
