At its board meeting on October 7, 2025, the DeiC Board decided that the circumstances and prerequisites for the DeiC Storage project have changed to such an extent that it is no longer feasible to bring the project to a successful conclusion within a reasonable timeframe.

Ongoing societal developments are expected to lead to significant changes in both the consortium’s role and the requirements for the solution, although the full impact is not yet known.
On that basis, the board decided to act with due diligence and terminate the project. The decision is, in accordance with the guidelines in Executive Order no. 615, subject to the approval of the Danish Agency for Higher Education and Science, which is pending.
