On May 27-28, 2024, Gitte Kusk, Director of DeiC, and Anne Sofie Fink, Head of Data Management, participated in the EOSC Association's 8th General Assembly in Leuven. The meeting marked an important milestone for DeiC, which formally acceded as a mandated organization. As a mandated organization, DeiC represents national interests in relation to EOSC as a member of the EOSC Association.

A key announcement from the General Assembly was the presentation of the upcoming EOSC EU Node, which will be launched at the EOSC Symposium in Berlin in October. The new EU Node will provide researchers with access to a wide range of research objects and supplementary services all in one place. This initiative replaces previous efforts such as the EOSC Marketplace and EOSC Portal and represents an important step towards establishing a robust infrastructure for FAIR data and services, enabling researchers to share data and services across borders and research disciplines.

“Significant resources have been invested in the EOSC initiative, and previous successes have primarily been in training and competence development related to FAIR principles. Projects like FAIR-IMPACT and Skills4EOSC have made valuable contributions. We are now seeing substantial progress on the infrastructure front,” explains Anne Sofie Fink, Head of Data Management at DeiC.
