Public entities are witnessing increased demands for ensuring that their communication channels and content is accessible. These requirements stem from the public at large and from specific mandatory regulations (Reference to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1). and the Danish implementation through ”Tilgængeligheden af offentlige websteder og mobilapplikationer”).

Amberscript makes use of legal and de-facto standard video files and subtitle and is accessible through a simple and straightforward web interface. Amberscript has an API that makes the service accessible to and from other market leading media solutions.

Supports 11 languages

The DeiC Amberscript agreement includes a web interface for automatic transcription. At launch time the Agreement will include major discounting on the following languages:

  • Danish
  • Swedish
  • English
  • Norwegian (Bokmål)
  • Finnish
  • Dutch
  • German
  • Spanish
  • French
  • Portuguese
  • Italian

Transcription is done by upload of a sound or video file to the Amberscript web interface. The web interface is then used to transcribe speech to text. If needed, the transcribed text can be converted to and stored as subtitles.

Amberscript has been chosen by NORDUnet through an EU-tender and is supported in Denmark by DeiC. Therefore, your institution does not need to conduct its own tender.

Amberscript is GDPR compliant and DeiC offers institutions a Data processing agreement if needed.

Big discounts

DeiC Amberscript is invoiced at an hourly rate of 44 DKK, excluding VAT. This is equivalent to a more than 50% discounting rate compared to using the transcription service outside of this agreement.

The Amberscript agreement is available for all Danish institutions making use of WAYF (Where Are You From). If you need more information about the terms of the agreement or want to make use of the service, you can find further information here.

If you need help with onboarding your institution to Amberscript or need help ensuring your institution makes efficient use of the service, you can contact amberscript@deic.dk.

First level support of the DeiC Amberscript service will be provided at your local institution – typically by your it-department or your DeiC Amberscript administrator.
